Do I need an account?

No. The calculators run in the browser you already have open. There is no sign-up, no password, and no household login. If you can open the page, you can run the numbers. Closing the tab does not create a record on a MindPilotQ server, because the arithmetic never left the device.

Where do my numbers go?

Inputs are saved in local storage on your device so the form can refill itself. The calculator does not transmit the bill total, the income, or the savings goal in order to compute a result. Copy and Share only leave the device when you choose an app from the share sheet, or when you download the picture. You can delete the saved inputs by clearing site data for this address in the browser.

Why do two people sometimes differ by one cent?

Money on this site is handled in cents. If a total does not divide into equal cents, the extra cents are assigned one at a time. On a $233.06 bill split four ways, two people pay $58.27 and two pay $58.26. Those four amounts add back to $233.06. Rounding every share to the same displayed cent and then multiplying would miss or overshoot the total. The rows are the audit. The headline is the higher share when the gap is a single cent.

Is tip calculated before or after tax?

Tip is a percent of the pre-tax subtotal, the first field on the bill split page. Tax is a separate dollar amount from the receipt. The percent is not applied to the tax and not applied to a total that already includes an earlier tip. If your subtotal already includes tip, set the tip control to 0 percent so you do not add it twice.

What do the budget buckets mean?

Needs are rent, food, and transport. Wants are subscriptions and other. Savings is only the amount in the savings field. The 50/30/20 ticks are 50 percent, 30 percent, and 20 percent of take-home income. Left over is income minus all six fields. It is not automatically treated as savings. If your restaurants are inside Food, the needs bar will include them. Move restaurant spending to Other if you want it counted as a want.

Why does a savings date say "around" a month?

Monthly mode counts how many monthly deposits are required, rounding up so a remainder does not leave you short, then names the calendar month that many months from now. It does not know which day you get paid. Deadline mode counts days to the date you pick, converts them with a 30.4375-day average month, and rounds the monthly amount up to the next cent. Interest, fees, and inflation are not in either formula.

Are the guides financial advice?

No. Guides explain formulas and show worked examples. They are for informational purposes only. They are not a recommendation to rent a particular place, keep a particular savings rate, or buy any product. The disclaimer is linked from the footer and from every calculator result. A byline is a writing credit, not a client relationship.

Can I use this for taxes or a loan application?

Not as the source a lender or a tax authority will accept. The tools do not know your filing status, your interest rate, or your lender's rules. Use them to understand a figure, then check anything that matters with the bill, the lease, or a qualified professional. If a result surprises you, redo the addition on paper before you send money to another person.

Who do I write to about a mistake?

Email booklooker97@gmail.com with the page address and the numbers you used. That mailbox is for this site. Please do not include payment card numbers or identity documents. A wrong total in a guide is worth a note. We would rather correct a paragraph than leave a figure that does not add up.
